Are you consuming very much salt or using an electrolyte drink when you exercise? Higher salt consumption is often a culprit with water retention. The weight gain is possibly a function of the increased muscle, which would definitely be a good thing. Is your diet fairly clean?

The herbal or all natural alternative is a great way, otherwise whatever you want to do, should be under trainer.
