| Welcome to Sunstone Yoga’s Weekend Training Programs |
Get certified at the 200 or 500 hour level and qualify for Yoga Alliance Registration.
In a Sunstone Yoga Weekend Training Program, |
 |
You will expand your understanding of yogic practices and the techniques required for moving students safely in and out of yoga postures. You will cover the core topics of technique, teaching methodology, meditation, anatomy and physiology, philosophy, history, ethics, and many of the spiritual practices of Indic Yoga. |
 |
In addition to your regular yoga practice and weekend training schedule, your coursework includes self-study, homework asisgnments, required reading, and regular assessments. You will have access to our unique web portal to find your readings, videos, recorded classes and assignments, ask questions or share discoveries with peers and instructors. |
 |
The course hours allow a dedicated student to complete the 200 hour training in 11 weekends of training, and the 500 hour students to complete their training in 21 weekends of intensive training. At that time you will be eligible to teach your practicum classes at any Sunstone Yoga studio. |

Weekend training is ideal for the local Dallas Fort Worth area resident; allowing our trainees the flexibility to maintain their regular weekly yoga practice and full time job or family commitments, and still move through their teacher training quickly, in our powerful intensive environment. Each one of your weekends includes an optional beginning of 84 Asanas Advanced Practice and a Meditation on Friday afternoon. There may be a mandatory or optional Friday evening session, depending on which weekend module is being taught. The Saturday and Sunday schedule will begin with an early morning Wood class and a FIRE class, and then continue with afternoon labs for 4 - 6 hours. Each day will include 2 asana classes and an hour of meditation in addition to the course labs. Within a few months, you'll be ready to teach!

 |
In Methodology, you will learn to teach with a combination of 4 unique teaching techniques.
123 Teach is a fast, effective drill to teach you the 3 key cues you will deliver virtually every time you teach the postures of the FIRE series. Trainees are typically teaching a posture confidently within 20 minutes of practice.
Asana Lab is a workshop focused on the in depth study of each posture in the series. Studying the bones, muscles, internal organs, energy movement and subtle anatomy being utilized or stimulated, the students create their own database of teaching knowledge.
Adjustment Seminar is a workshop for making confident, safe, hands-on adjustments to students at all levels of practice, including pre-natal, beginners, and advanced.
Sequence Practice puts the trainees into the flow and pace of a real class environment, where they can take turns working with the microphones and heat, and teach a short sequence of postures to their peers. |

Nutrition is a discussion of yogic diet beliefs, and includes an assignment to evaluate your personal diet patterns and experiment with alternate choices.
Ethics is an lively and informative open forum discussion on yogic ethics and business ethics and how they fit together.
Operations is a self-directed apprenticeship and training requirement that prepares you to operate a yoga studio inside and outside of the yoga classroom. |
