Gifford Pinchot III will help select Green Washington Award recipients Print
BGI’s president, Gifford Pinchot III, has been asked by Washington CEO Magazine to serve as a judge for the 2008 Green Washington Awards.  Gifford will join a panel of environmental and business leaders who are helping recognize significant contributions to maintaining the environment of the Evergreen State.  The panel also includes Joan Crooks, Washington Environmental Council executive director; Ben Packard,  Starbucks director of Environmental Affairs; William Ruckelshaus, Madrona Venture Group; Jon Naimon, Light Green Advisors, LLC, management partner; and Doug Walker.

The Green Washington Awards will recognize companies and organizations whose initiatives and actions shape, educate and provide a catalyst for environmental sustainability—clean technology, recycling, carbon footprints, and more—in Washington.  Winners and finalists will be honored at an awards event in May 2008. Award winners and their accomplishments will be featured in Washington CEO Magazine.

For more information on the awards, visit the Washington CEO website. The deadline for award nominations is March 21, 2008.

"The blend of curriculum, vision and the quality of staff and faculty at BGI was a perfect fit for me.  I am extremely dedicated to finding new ways to preserve our natural resources, but needed additional knowledge and tools to make the process more productive and rewarding."
