I have been to a few fire classes (a couple of years ago) and really liked it.  Recalling how much I perspire in class, is it ok to do if I'm breastfeeding?

Hi Caroline,

I have had women who did yoga in the heat while breast feeding and there was difficulty with the belly down postures due to sensitivity. I directed the student to do the pre natal postures during the belly down postures. Here are the pre natal postures for the belly down sequence.

Cobra - Plank Pose on the knees, Hands wide apart.
During spine strengthening series, you may rest in childs pose in between postures.
Locust - Extended Cat Stretch, On all fours extend one arm forward and the oppostie arm back.
Full Locust - Strong Fire Hydrant
Floor Bow - Cat Bow - On all fours, Grab opposite hand to foot and kick up into bow.
Pigeon - 90/90

As for the excess sweating and concerns of lactacting, please remeber to increase your fluids and remember to keep your diet rich with juicy foods for example plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (canned is not fresh) keep up your intake of leafy greens.

Hope this is helpful.
