About 2 months ago I started limiting the grain in my diet. I can't remember what gave me the idea to try it. All my life, I've eaten hot or cold cereal, or pancakes, or bagels for breakfast and all my life, I've been a pretty low-energy person. But one day, I decided that I was going to eat only an orange and some nuts instead. An experiment! Ok, so I was still hungry and I had a banana, too. It was actually really hard not to get my porridge fix even after filling my belly! But I stuck it out and had some tea instead. I did this for two weeks, and noticed the intestinal cramps I usually experienced before eliminating were a lot more rare. I also felt like it was easier to get myself going in the morning. So I kept it up for the past two months and now I don't crave grains anymore and I've lost six pounds (I'm eating the same amount of calories as before). I feel like my body is stronger and more flexible and I'm more clearheaded. So my question is, I feel good. . . but should I be supplementing any nutrients?
I intend to start sprouting grains to see if it makes a difference eating them raw and unprocessed. Does anybody have experience doing this? I've never sprouted anything before except a chia pet.
Any comments will be much appreciated. Thanks,
Lisa
