I belong to a Yoga Lovers forum on SparkPeople.com (free diet website) and one of the members posted about a Global Mala during the equinox.

Basically you would plan 108 asanas or something like that the weekend of Sept 21 thru 23.  If your interested in your studio participating, you can go to http://www.globalmala.org/ for more information and to sign up.  In addition to being a pretty cool idea, it may bring new people to the studios...

Of course, if you really want to make my day, you'd do it on the 23rd as I'm out of town until then.  But even if I can't go, I thought I'd let you know about it...

Namaste.

Yes, this is a great Idea.  I've been to the Global Mala website and to my sorrow, no studios in Dallas (Sunstone or otherwise) are taking up the challenge.  Maybe next year with more planning something will happen for us here in Dallas.

But that does not preclude us from doing something on our own.  108 blessings or 108 Sun Salutations or 108 malas of a particular mantra or 108 of anything that is pure and from the heart will give the same returns as doing it in a group.  I think that will be my goal for this year :-)

Om Shanti, Sue
