I've been meaning to write for a while now in the hopes of receiving some encouragement. My practice has been sporadic over the last few months, unfortunately. We've been remodeling our house, trying to help/encourage our housepest roommate relocate to a new home, and I've felt stressed out consistently . . . well, I've kind of shut down to avoid the stress, and it's resulted in lack of energy for much beyond the basics of keeping my homelife flowing as smoothly as I can hope for, under the circumstances. So my yoga practice has fallen by the wayside in the time when I most needed it. How did I let that happen?
But, I have a feeling things will come together in the next few weeks. I'll be keeping my chin up, but it may take me a while to get back into a rewarding routine.

I appreciate you all. Thank you for creating a community for me to belong to.

Lisa

Lisa, we've definitely missed seeing you around the studio, and it sounds like you've answered your own question. This is the time you need the benefits of your yoga practice the most - even though time is tight, when your body and mind are being taken care of, they just work better. You have the energy and the positive outlook you need to deal with all of life's challenges a little more easily. Using energy opens up the body to even more energy, so set aside that time for yourself - even just twice a week - and you'll have a lot more time, energy, and enthusiasm for everything else. I don't know what to do about the housepest, but I do know that the benefits of yoga include increased problem solving ability - so you might find the answer to that problem in your renewed yoga practice also!

Don't wait another day - come on in for a class tonight. I know you won't regret it.
See you soon!

Hi Lisa,

I would love to see you in 84 Asanas tomorrow, I enjoy seeing your happy shiny face sitting there in lotus.

Peace

Nicole

Helen,
Thanks for the response! I did go to metal at 4:30, and of course I was glad I did. I felt pretty good for not having been consistently. I've been trying to take care of myself through my diet and lots of time working in the yard even if I haven't gotten out for formal exercise and "me-time" as much. I cut most grain out of my diet about 2 months ago, and wow has it made a difference in my life--I feel more flexible and strong and clearheaded! I did initially it to see if it could help my digestion (I had painful intestinal cramps every day) and it did!
Ha, and even though I may miss class, wind-relieving postures are always an important part of my day.
