Hi,
I've been out of class for two weeks because I hurt my arm pretty badly by falling on it while rollerblading. I wear wrist and knee pads, but they didn't help me as I fell on my elbow! For awhile I couldn't do ANYTHING! I felt completely useless and pitiful, and I spent one entire week doing nothing but one-handed jigsaw puzzles. I'm finally getting some use of the arm back, but it's still quite painful at times, and I can't put much weight on it. I have difficulty both straightening my elbow completely and rotating my hand in both directions past a certain point.
I've been trying to stay active in ways that don't involve my arms too much, but I'm hoping to get back to yoga soon. I'm cautious of doing something to reinjure myself, though. The bow poses are simply not possible; nor is tibetan table, or camel, or locust. Even putting my hands together with my arms straight up by my ears is painful.
Should I stay away til I've healed more fully, or can the instructors give me modifications so I don't have to sit out every other posture? I'm hoping if I give it another week I'll be well enough to do most things again. . .but a week's a long time!

Lisa
