I love looking for Yoga classes in other places I visit, and had the opportunity to do this recently on a couple of vacations I've taken with my extended family. I am always trying to keep myself on some sort of Yoga schedule when I'm away from my beloved Sunstone, and I thought it might be fun for us to report in when we find a studio in another state or even country, worth visiting:
We were in Talkeetna, Alaska, a few weeks ago, and I found a woman named A.J. Sullivan who teaches a noon class Monday through Thursday at the VFW Center in the town. It's a very small town, so it's easy to find. She was a super-cool girl, and provided a lovely practice. She studies hard and attends Yoga workshops and retreats whenever possible to keep herself learning, so her knowledge was deep and her cueing and attention to each student was detailed and right on.
And then just last week, we were in Pagosa Springs, CO, for a family reunion, and I found a place called Yoga Pagosa. I took a Yoga and deep meditation class from Eric, and found it very enriching. It was a relatively short endurance section, but my legs were still shaking as we held our bent-knee triangle for 8 or 9 breaths!
Neither of these were hot Yoga, and both were vastly different from each other, but I always find something I can take away with me, no matter what the Yoga style or experience.
Happy Yoga Trails!
